Aaiden - Year 13

Years passed by but Shianne and Aaiden still feared to leave their home.

Green-fleshed Zombies would randomly wander up, their teeth clashing with hunger.

Safely inside the two girls grew.

Aaiden and Rayna still maintained a close relationship.

"What do you mean?" Aaiden asked Rayna.

"Why don't we just leave?"

"It's not safe," Aaiden answered.

"Can't we just kill them?"

"I honestly don't know how."

"Can't we at least try?" Rayna exclaimed. "I want to kill them all!"

Aaiden studied his eldest daughter, he had seen this side of her slowly surfacing.

"I mean we have to fight them. What are other people doing? They can't all be holed up in their homes!"

Aaiden was in charge of homeschooling the girls while Shianne maintained the garden. It had been slowly expanding. Aaiden and Shianne still reminisced about the taste of meat though.

There were few entertainment options open to the family. They had read and re-read their collection of books. So Shianne and Rayna often had "dance offs."

Aaiden and Quinn judged, and they always ended in a tie.

The family had finally gotten to a point where they hardly noticed the sounds coming from outside.

Shianne also kept the family in peak physical condition.

And the two lovebirds always made time for each other.

While they snuggled up, Rayna and Quinn would hang out.

"Don't you want to feel like you're doing something?" Rayna asked her sister.

Quinn shuffled her feet awkwardly, they had had this conversation a hundred times.

"I bet I could take one out," Rayna continued, "I just would need a weapon of some sort. It's not like they move that fast."

"I don't know," Quinn started, "from what mom and dad said they're horrible creatures. One bite and you're gone."

"I want to help," Quinn continued, "but I don't know how."

"Ugh, it sucks being stuck inside! There has to be other people out there...people our age."

"I'm so bored!" Rayna sighed.
