Rayna - Year 6

They experienced their first harsh winter since the Zombie outbreak.

Shianne and Aaiden originally hoped that the heavy snow may drive the disease dormant. Or at least kill off the Zombies.

They immediately discovered that it was not the case. Zombies still filled the streets and occasional ones would wander into their front yard and fill their nights with ghastly groans.

Although the coldness drew the family close.

And to top it off it gave the family several more entertainment options.

They enjoyed the snow and Shianne's carefully prepared rations.

Inside the home baby Quinn stayed bundled up.

Her time spent sleeping, playing, or learning basic skills.

Rayna showed her sweet side to her little sister.

They spent a lot of their time quietly playing next to each other.

Although Shianne and Aaiden were also slowly noticing a different side to Rayna.

One that worried the two parents.

Rayna - Year 3

Three years had passed by quickly.

Shianne still maintained a small garden which kept the three Sims fed.

Baby Rayna had grown into an adventurous toddler.

Who looked like a clone of her mother.

If it had not been for the hordes of Zombies wondering the streets, they would have been a very typical family.

Rayna learned how to walk and talk.

And she threw toddler tantrums regularly.

Shianne was also expecting their second child.

Though she didn't experience her initial fear as in her past pregnancy.

The Zombies were the worst at night. Shianne would hold her daughter close to her as they heard the moans and cries of the Zombies down below.

Aaiden's choice of home proved solid as the family stayed safely indoors.

Once particular night when the streets were full of walking corpses, Shianne felt the familiar pains of labor.

Aaiden and Shianne were much more prepared this go-around.

They welcomed another daughter into their family.

Baby Quinn joined the household.

Shianne - Day 70

Shianne was pregnant. She knew it right away. She would have to tell Aiden, she wouldn't be able to hide it much longer.

How could she have been so careless? Who gets pregnant during a Zombie apocalypse?

Shianne mustered up her courage and pulled Aaiden aside.

"I don't know how to say this...so I'll just come out with it," Shianne paused and waited until he nodded for her to continue, "I'm pregnant."

Aaiden stood there, his mouth gaping slightly, silent.

He finally unfroze, "this is unexpected." He said at last.

Shianne was flooded by emotion and worry.

"Well I guess we're having a baby!" He smiled.

Shianne felt relief drench her body.

As the baby grew inside of Shianne, their garden started to flourish.

Aaiden offered to trade Shianne for guard duty, but she would have none of it.

They finally had fresh fruit and vegetables to supplement their diet.

The two never left the property but apart from that, they tried to make their lives as 'normal' as they possibly could.

Other than napping more often, there was no real change in Shianne.

That was until she felt the pains of labor for the first time.

It was excruciating.

Aaiden did not know what to do... There was no doctor, there was no hospital to call.

After a minor freak-out on both ends...

...Aaiden finally calmed himself down and he was able to think logically.

Together they brought baby Rayna into the world.

Shianne - Day 45

The late Summer sun caused their garden to sprout, but their house was sweltering without air conditioning.

Aaiden and Shianne spent the hottest hours stripped down enjoying their few entertainment options.

Aaiden constantly attempted to socialize with Shianne, but she usually kept her wall up.

"So are you originally from Roseward?" he asked.

Shianne finally lowered her guard a bit, "No," she answered solemnly.

"I'm from Bridgeport. We were here trying to get away from the big city for a week. We were on our honeymoon."

"Oh," Aaiden said softly.

"It was our last full day here," Shianne began, "We had heard stories back home...about the disease...but shrugged it off. You know how the media sensationalizes everything. We were by the bookstore, walking back to our motel room...when chaos broke out." Shianne's voice started shaking.

"You don't have to continue if you don't want to," Aaiden reassured.

"No, It's been long enough," Shianne said clearing her throat. "We heard the screams, and we saw a man coming towards us. He was covered in blood and his eyes were yellow. There was another woman in front of us. She was frozen with fear, and he grabbed her. He ripped her throat out...like just in the movies. George, my husband run up towards them...he was like that, you know, always wanted to help out. He tried to pull them apart but then that man leapt towards George and...and bit him!"

Aaiden remained silent and let Shianne continue. "There was so much blood. The last thing George told me was to run...and I did. I ran...I left him. I had been hiding out, scavenging food, and always running...until you saw me."

"I'm so sorry," Aaiden said softly. "I had no one before the outbreak. I mean I lost friends, but I was alone before and I was alone after." They stared at each other for a few minutes until Shianne pulled herself closer to him.

Aaiden wrapped his arm around his companion and they sat together. He could feel her breathing calm down and he enjoyed the closeness of having another person so nearby.

Reading each other's body language, they both leaned in for a kiss.

Passion overtook, and Shianne finally let her guard down completely.

It was also the first time that she had smiled since the day George died.
